Ben White, I like this guy.
Ben White is a user I found on my favorite royalty free photo sharing website, unsplash.com. That’s where I get most of my pictures for my articles, in case you’re wondering.
Apprently he’s a real professional photographer who runs an agency with real price tags for his works. An entrepreneur who offers his service to the general public.
I don’t know him personally, but just from looking at his unsplash collection, I can tell three things about him : he’s got good eyes, lots of friends and he’s not ashamed of his faith.
It’s simple but has volumes…
How many of us are still ashamed of our faith as we go through our daily lives offering our services to the general public or to the company we work ? I do sometimes.
How many of us are still ashamed to give full-out-loud credit to God when we’re demonstrating our best talents ? I do sometimes.
Have we really try to embrace the special people that God has put around us ? (read prev post “Keeping Up With Godly People”)
You probably think I’m drawing too much out of a simple unsplash user.
But that’s the thing. You don’t need to be fancy, sophisticated or complicated to glorify God.
Just be simple and ordinary, and let it glorify God.
In fact, God is glorified the most through the simplest things in life.
If you’ve got talents to do anything, use them to glorify God in every way you can. Don’t overdo it, don’t undercut it. Let it be it and God will take it from there.
While fanciness does attract attention and creates temporary sensation, but simpleness mixed with God’s power touches souls and creates lasting memory that ultimately changes lives.
Sharing this simple statement from Paul about this matter, which, like just mentioned above, really touched my heart and somehow stirred a change in the way I live my daily life. Emphasis underlined :
“When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan. For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified. I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling. And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.” – 1 Cor 2:1-5.
Gonna try to get this post to Mr. Ben White and thank him for his simple works that has blessed me and others.
